With today's bakeries becoming more and more automated, it is essential that pans perform perfectly with automated equipment in the bakery. This includes stacking, un-stacking, dough depositing, de-panning, etc.
By straightening their pans on a regular basis, customers realize the benefits of this service. Straightening pans not only decreases work stoppages due to stacking/un-stacking errors, but also helps prevent conveyor or oven jams, equipment damage, misshaped products, pan damage, and coating damage. But with replacement costs accounting for the largest capital expense in a bakery, the best reason to keep pans straightened is extended pan life. Straightening pans can increase pan life by more than 50%!
